Hi Everyone,
I hope you all are doing well and work is going well . I just wanted to write to you all to ask and few questions and gain insight on some different professional organizations that I am considering joining.
Are any of you a member of the International Society for Performance Improvement or the American Society of Training and Development?
If so, what you do like about the organization in which you are a member and how has the organization or organizations helped you in your current position?
Any feedback would be awesome. Take care and hope to talk with you all soon! :-)

I am not a part of either of those organizations. I am interested, however, in hearing any feedback. I need to figure out a good organization to join!
Like Chelsea, I'm not a member of either organization. However, I have been to a few meetings of the Central Indiana chapter of ASTD after recommendations from others in the training & development field. The network of members come from all over the industry, and the meetings are usually about relevant topics (although you can always pick & choose the pertinent ones to go to).
I have heard that the ID organization is a bit "snooty"-- at least the one around here. However, I have never been myself, so I can't vouch for it first hand.
I became a member of ASTD last year as a part of my goals and didn't really find it too useful. They sent me a monthly magazine that I referenced in a couple of org. training courses. But, they also continue to send me junk mail and spam on a daily basis. :)
I need to sign up for one this year...let me know which you pick!
